Re: Safety & support of a gutted MH. How can I make it safe?

You could add internal X members (ceiling to opposite floor) to prevent lateral shifting however singlewides do not require internal ceiling support unless the ceiling structure is compromised structurally. I would not remove any external sheathing until the interior is completed. Let me understand...

Re: Porter Cable Japan Tooth Blades? Floor under walls...

Ron thanks for the reply. I wasn't so sure anyone would answer. Just how many blades are we talking about? I can certainly pull the trigger on about 30 of them to get that job done and over with. I have a brand new sawzall with a crap load of the bi-metal blades already sitting down there. So that's...

Safety & support of a gutted MH. How can I make it safe?

I have concerns at this stage of my complete gut job to a 14x70. I know that all the interior paneling adds stability to the home along with the outside aluminum sheeting & the interior walls. I have one wall left in the home that seems to be load bearing. It is still standing on the old particl...

Re: What happened to Zurn Pex @ Lowes?

Greg I was at home Depot tonight and they have the sharkbite brand of pex there now. Back in 07 when I did the last MH only Lowes carried pex. The people at Hd had no idea what it was. Anyway no more pex from Lowes for me. The sharkbit brand says all over it made in the usa!

Problem solved!

Re: Screw and Glue Vs The Nail Gun are Both Equal?

Ron yes the 3/4 ply will lay right on top on the 2x6 floor joists. We will then have a mixture of carpet and linoleum. I really dread screwing down all the floor like I did before. It seemed like it would never end.

What happened to Zurn Pex @ Lowes?

I went to Lowes and bought pex line this weekend and they no longer carry the zurn brand. All the 1/2 and 3/4 ten foot sections now say made in china.

Is this pex from china still recommended for my drinking water?

Screw and Glue Vs The Nail Gun are Both Equal?

Back in 07 I thought I was never going to finish my new 3/4 ply floor. You see we had to build a frame to put that 3/4 floor back down in a very old 70's style trailer with aluminum wire and all. The floor joist went long ways and it was an all out night mare. We screwed and glued the whole thing wi...

Yea I am almost done!

With a new gut job that is... lol Anyway I was hanging out around here back in 2007 when I was tricked into a 12x55? mobile home that was a mess. I got the place back on track after a lot of help from all of you here on the forums. Thank you all for your tireless help. Now I am back with another wre...
