RE: Used tub surround question

The plumbing would be on the outside wall if I used the existing holes in the surround. No access for repairs and a more difficult installation.

There is already an access point in our bedroom for the piping on an interior wall, no issues with freezing and much better access.

Used tub surround question

We are in the process of remodelling our main bathroom and I found a used corner whirlpool tub with surround for a great deal. Now of course it's going to go into the master bathroom and we don't have room to store it and who knows what else but we decided to get it anyway. The question I have is th...

RE: How long do you spend on the internet per day ?

Welcome to the group, People here are very helpful and easy to get along with.

I spend way to much time on the Internet. Since I got laid off between looking for a job, Ebay, craiglist etc.. I must spend 4 to 6 hours a day on the net right now. Not counting Netflix or Hulu lol

Right, there's now 2 different types of repair kits, a tape and a spray glue. From the way the spray glue reads some people may have had issues with the tape....

Tape, Glue, Bubblegum?? What the best underbelly repair??

I replaced all the piping of our MH when we bought it with new PEX and I know that before fall sets in I need to do a few things to the underbelly. I made quite a few slits in the fabric and there was already some holes where critters decided to chew... etc. I'm getting together a "punchsheet&q...

I just did the whole house in Pex and was amazed how quickly it went. I had never used it before, but read a lot about it here in the forums. I have used pvc and cpvc and for my money I'd take pex over that anyday.

You could also try WD-40. I've used it to clean up tape gunk left overs and it seemed to do a good job.

RE: dishwasher water hot while hot water heater is off....

Just found this one but wanted to tell my experiance on the subject. In our first mobile home we installed a dishwasher with the help of a friend who said because it made it's own hot water it didn't need to be hooked into the hot water line. We hooked it into the cold side to save money..... It nev...

RE: using wall anchors?

We just bought a box of wall anchors that are two different sizes and are white plastic screws you put into the wall first the put your screw into. They are no drill and work really well. We found them at menards. These aren't the ones we bought but they are close just to give you an idea. http://ww...

RE: OTS Microwave/Exhaust - Damper Flap

Hi Joe,

I think that flap stops the wind from coming in and you would want to keep it in place. I know that's what our flap on the the side exhaust vent over our stove is for, sort of like a check valve so things only move one way.

Why can't Glueless Vinyl be installed over particle Board?

We were over at Lowes looking for flooring for our new MH and found some real nice Armstrong No Glue Vinyl flooring on Clearance, $.65 sq ft. I think this would be a nice flooring for our kitchen. I have never put down a "Glueless" Vinyl before so I did a little Internet surfing and kept f...

RE: Poor SearchFu Newbie needs help on floors

Thanks Audie, I've enjoyed reading your other posts and they have given me a lot of ideas. The rooms are all empty right not so I will have my pick of work spaces, I'm thinking the living room has the best access and since it doesn't have any damage (that I know of) it's the place to be. I bought Ma...

RE: Poor SearchFu Newbie needs help on floors

thanks Brenda! This should come in handy for the back bathroom. Here in NW Indiana it's 7 degrees right now, I think highs this week to hit 28, yahoo!! I'm hoping it warms up a bit before I get to start tearing into the floor but if not I hope the furnace kicks off and the space heaters help my fing...

RE: Poor SearchFu Newbie needs help on floors

Thanks for answering back so quickly. I do want to do the job right and don't want to have to spend the time and money to have to turn right back around and have to redo it. We will be on a money crunch, I may have 30 days, give or take that I will have nights and weekends to work on the repairs and...

Poor SearchFu Newbie needs help on floors

Hi all, I've been lurking here for quite a while and and now the grand adventure begins for my family with a new to us (22 year old to the rest of the world) mobile home. We just put our down payment on a 1987 Patriot 14 X 70 3 bedroom 2 bath in a local park in NW Indiana. It was a repo and being so...
