The best kind of replacement roof
I've been told this type of roof has no plywood underneath the metal. It just has the wood beams, with insulation, and when walking on the roof you have to be careful to step only on the beams. Could this possibly be true? I'm thinking of redoing this roof. If there is no plywood I would like to hav...

Re: What kind of front door is this?
Did your replacement come with the metal frame that goes around the door? Or just the door itself? And can you provide a website link of the one you bought?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

Re: What kind of front door is this?
All of the images are missing on the article that you posted. No, this door was not cut to size, it's a steel door. I'm more interested in getting some advice on what to do. Have you seen a mobile home door like this before? Notice the weird metal frame and how it seems to be indented into the exter...

What kind of front door is this?
I've never seen such a door. This one is falling apart, at the bottom, and I need to replace it soon. Should I get a new one just like it? Or should I have the repair man put in more of a normal door that doesn't have that weird indentation?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Electrical outlets that are linked to a light switch
I live in an area where code compliance is not an issue. I'm just wondering if this is something easy to change out or not.

Electrical outlets that are linked to a light switch
I have an electrical outlet that is tied to the light switch that I want to change so that it no longer does. Is this an easy thing to do?
Thanks!

Best electrical outlets to use as replacements
I'm going to replace the electrical outlets in my mobile home with new ones. Is there a particular brand I should look for? I assume the traditional outlets sold at Home Depot will be better quality then my current snap-together type. Right?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Propane wall heater flickers badly
I had two of these professionally installed this past summer. As you will see in the short video, the flame sputters excessively at times. Almost as if the unit is deciding it needs to come on, and then instantly deciding it's time to turn off. Could this be due to my roughly 5,000 foot elevation? I...

Question about replacing doors
Have you guys found that it's better to buy new doors at Home Depot or is it better to buy doors specifically made for mobile homes?
Also, what is the good way to find the manufacturer of an out-swing back door? I need to order a new rubber seal.
Thanks!

Re: Where to place propane wall heaters?
Because I'm off grid and furnace blowers consumer large amounts of power. Perhaps one day my solar power system will be sufficient enough to run the furnace blower most of the day during the cold months, but for now, our system is not big enough to support that luxury.

Re: I need to upload a 20MB video
A good friend suggested that it's likely due to my elevation at 5400 feet. He said there is an oxygen sensor built in, for safety, and the flame is flickering at times because the unit is waffling back an forth between being on with a low flame, vs. turning off.
Sound about right?
