Re: sinking floor

If your place is anything like mine, the wall is attached to the subfloor from underneath the subfloor with about 1000 staples, so the plywood probably won't just slide out from under the wall.

Re: Total Remodel - Project 3: Drywall & Insulation

Tried it in a house with windows and floors and stuff and it was more work then it's worth. Spent a very long time to tape everything off and other prep. The spraying went very fast, but the extra prep work negated any time saved over rolling, plus the cleanup on a sprayer takes a lot of work. What...

Re: Will any basic windows from a big box store fit 2x3 fram

Any single hung window is the same crappy window that you have now. Do yourself a favor and get a quality double hung window. Greg as long as the price isn't significantly more, i'll go with double hung. I'm going to check the local mobile home parts place this weekend .. i know they have a lot of ...

Will any basic windows from a big box store fit 2x3 framing?

I see Lowes has some aluminum single hung windows (24x36) in the $65 range. Will any cheap windows like this work as replacements for the crappy windows I have now? Or do I need to get a special type of window that fits 2x3 framing?

The existing windows are basic aluminum single hung.

Re: Total Remodel - Project 3: Drywall & Insulation

We ended up applying texture using a texture roller and some dry mix texture stuff. It's coming out like a very fine popcorn ceiling texture .. we're not even bothering to knock it down since the peaks aren't very tall. I'm planning on picking up an airless sprayer this weekend so we can lay down th...

Cutting out some of the subfloor: http://i.imgur.com/LNaIesj.jpg?1 We were lucky enough to have an existing plywood subfloor, but there are still some damaged areas. I didn't get a final pic, but ended up removing a 8' x 2' section starting at the blue line on the left. After I dropped in the new pl...

Re: Suggestions for air nail gun for trim work

I just got a Ryobi 18v cordless nailer and have been pretty pleased with it thus far. Have only done a little trim work in a room, but I've got a whole house ahead of me and I feel like it is going to work out great! I'm glad to hear that .. I look at it every time I'm in Home Depot, as I already h...

Re: Is this busted door repairable?

With the money you'll spend on material (and time) trying to fix that, it's worth spending $20 - $25 at Home Depot for a new door. The downside is all of their doors are 80" tall so you may have to trim it down for it to fit. I picked up a split jamb pre-hung door for $65 for my remodel and it ...

Re: sewer water coming out of open sewer lines?

well, I think I may have resolved my issue. There really is no 'green' line in my image above. The blue line runs from toilet to toilet, and the sinks and tubs drain into it. In the middle of the blue line is a T that drops down to the red line, which then runs to the septic tank. I ran the drain sn...

Re: CAT 5 network cables in the AC duct work

Wherever you put the router, make sure there's enough room for ventilation. Those things can get hot sometimes. Can you run the wires thru the floor and route them underneath the trailer? The holes in my floor where the electrical wires come through are quite large, and could easily accommodate a si...

Re: sewer water coming out of open sewer lines?

Here's a basic layout of what I've seen so far. Other than the line that goes to the septic tank, I'm not sure how these pipes connect together. I'll get a better look this weekend or whenever it quits raining.. whichever comes first. http://i.imgur.com/TytHpa9.jpg The black dots indicate where I've...

Re: Tankless Hot water heaters

Would a water pressure booster pump help if low pressure was an issue? I had a tankless hot water heater in my stick built home years ago after the original water tank blew up, and I loved it. It was great being able to wash a big load of dishes and not running out of hot water. The space savings is...
