Pricing a mobile home for sale
Is there a "blue book" for these things? We may be moving due to wife's job, trying to run all the numbers and see if it works out in our benefit or not. If we do our MH would have to go up for sale. Since there aren't a lot of comps like when you sell a house it's hard to figure out a pri...

Re: What are these?
Is it just a cover or vent? Or is it a speaker? Have you taken the cover off to see? I've worked in a couple of older trailers that had speakers in the ceiling.

Re: Roofing
I didn't mean I was thinking to put shingles on it. Just saying I have done many squares of shingles and barely any other types. How does the kool seal install? After some googling I see there website says it's under construction so can't get the instructions. Is kool seal just one brand option or i...

Roofing
What are my options when it comes to repairing a roof like this? Honestly I don't have a lot of experience in rubber and roll on roofing. I've done many many squares of asphalt shingles but only a very limited amount of working with other roofing materials. This is on the trailer in the park that a ...

Re: Some interesting repair pictures
I have been getting undressed outside the door down to my shorts and then coming in and showering right away. I still feel like I have things crawling on me hours after I leave. He has had an exterminator out twice now and they seem to be mostly gone. Guess the park owner felt bad for him since he b...

Re: Some interesting repair pictures
I've been in a bunch of the trailers in our park to do various repairs and most are in decent shape, all trailers could use a little TLC here and there but most of them I've seen are very livable. But this one is just filthy and a mess. I guess because this guy had the title of manager people truste...

Some interesting repair pictures
Thought you guys might get a nice laugh out of this. A friend of mine asked if any trailers were for sale in the park. After talking to the office manager she gave me some lot numbers and prices. Called him back and told him which ones were for sale and told him to get a hold of the office manager t...

Re: washing VENTED soffit and fascia
I agree, get a good cleaner and spray it on and let it sit for a couple minutes. Scrub if needed and then a quick splash with the hose should get it clean. The key is finding a cleaner to get off whatever you need it to get off and let the cleaner do the work. Most power washing companies have switc...

Re: Belly Wrap COver Up
I think it would be easier to got with the flexmend tape. Depending on the size of the holes the 28" wide roll works good. Just bring a spray bottle with some water and soap down there and a rag and cleaning is pretty easy. Then just peel and stick the flexmend and use a hair dryer or heat gun ...

Re: Bath and shower drain
I've never seen a "normal" tub drain with overflow in a MH. Mine is a 2000 and doesn't have overflow type drains. Maybe on the really new ones they have upgraded to overflow type drains but I haven't seen them. These have to be accessed from underneth the trailer and you have to find the ...

Re: Pipe problem? Please help.
First thing to rule out is a gas line. A gong sound and then smelling rotten eggs could mean a gas leak. They put stuff in the gas to smell like rotten eggs so leaks are easily detectable. Most likely isn't a gas leak but based on what you have said it's worth looking into first. After you rule out ...

Re: water pressure?? problems
If the smell is only on the hot like you said in above post then it's not the new plastic pipe making the smell. The cold would also smell if it was the pipe. Forget about security cameras and plexiglass for seeing the water heater. Make a door in that closet so you can easily get to it. Cut a hole ...

Sounds like you're in for a fun day. Hopefully the pump pulls out easy. Glad to hear your plumber is better and will be able to take care of you this week.

Re: what kind of pipe?
Black is ABS which is what a lot of MH use. ABS is hard to find in my area, the box stores sell white PVC with a few 1 1/2" ABS fittings. What I started doing is just using the PVC fittings and pipe to make any repairs. I use the blue transition cement, just read the directions carefully. You c...
