Re: Mold/fungus eating wood?
Water does weird things. If the leak was in the middle and there was any slope to your roof line water will travel the path of least resistance. So it can follow your roof line or wood and travel pretty much anywhere it can go. Chasing water leaks can be a challange. Glad to hear that the problem is...

Re: Mold/fungus eating wood?
I don't have experience with termites but from what I have read about termites is they eat the wood and not discolor it like that. My guess is water damage from a leak somewhere. Are the two corners at the end of the trailer, in other words are they both outside corners of the trailer? If so I would...

Re: Repairing linoleum flooring
Thanks Greg. I can't see anywhere that says the manufacturer but I did pick up this kit at home depot tonight, http://www.tools4flooring.com/armstrong-s-564-low-gloss-seam-coating-kit.html. Hopefully that will do the trick. I'm not to worried about the patch not matching the rest as long as the &quo...

Repairing linoleum flooring
We finished the carpeting in the bedroom and living room this last week which went very well with one minor issue! Being a family of 5 we have our home pretty well filled so when doing the carpet we had to cram furnature and stuff where ever we could to clear out a whole room. While doing the living...

Re: Putting in new carpeting
Thanks for all the replies. I finished up the bedroom and living room this weekend. Can't say it's one of the funnest things I've ever done! I bought a seaming iron and tried my hand at seaming the carpet. Turned out alright but not proffesional. I wouldn't say the seams are bad, just not as good as...

Re: Bottom Sill
I agree with the above posters that you should re level your home before you go any furthur, it will only make it easier on you and it's not that hard to do. I did mine for the first time not that long ago. If you hire someone it might cost a few hundred bucks and MIGHT need some sort of permit or s...

Re: sewer roof vent pipe
Is ther air vent burried in the wall? If so it's trying to suck enough air in threw the drywall to allow the tub to drain. Like mentioned those air vents aren't really meant to keep up with a full tub draining.

Putting in new carpeting
The significant other decided we needed new carpeting in our room and the living room. Current carpet is the original from 2000. I've installed some carpet before but in stick built houses and never any big enough that it needed seaming. So off to home depot we went, 18 months no interest. Bought en...

Re: Oh cr*p, toilet problems!
So your old toilet sits 6" off the wall? You have a couple of choices here. One is to build a wall out from the currant wall, either all the way up or just 3' or so and cap it off and set stuff on top. Other option is to use an offset flange, http://www.lowes.com/pd_253225-138-435453_0__?produc...

Re: Paint tub
Oh boy! First, tubs can be "painted". I've never done it because personally I don't like "covering up" things. To me a tub is a very smooth glazed surface that I don't really trust anything to adhere to and last. But I may be wrong and that's just my opinion. Now, about the secon...

Re: Oh cr*p, toilet problems!
I went through this a few years ago. First if it's in the budget I would consider a new toilet. They aren't to expensive and you have to buy a repair kit anyway. If a new toilet isn't an option then a rebuild kit would replace all the guts and seals in your toilet. They make a few different ones lik...

Built a spice rack
I like to cook and do most of the cooking for the 5 of us, 3 teenage kids! So cooking a nice meal for 5 people in a mobile home can be a challange with the limited space. Our counter space is pretty much dedicated to the microwave, toaster, deep fryer, kitchen aid mixer, food processor, blender, pop...

Re: Few questions before I relevel our home
Hey Ponch, How did it go, if you got to it? We're looking at releveling our mh as well, and were getting ourselves worked up to do so when I had to replace our front P.T. stairs. I'd love to hear more about your experience with the leveling with one jack, angle irons (what are they and how do I get...

Re: Few questions before I relevel our home
I got a water level together today and will make some time to crawl under the trailer this weekend. Going to be fun it's supposed to be in the 90s with high humidity so will be a day in paradise!

Re: raise a 60 footer one ft.
I'm going to be re leveling mine in the next couple weeks, if we ever get rid of this 90-100 degree heat! If I was raising the whole thing up a foot I would get at least 4 if not 6 bottle jacks. Probably 6 and put on in each corner and two in the middle. Then raise up a few strokes on all jacks and ...
