Re: Amana for Mfg Home?

Thanks, Robert! I talked to my furnace man again, and now we're talking Intertherm instead.

Re: Amana for Mfg Home?

Thanks for the info. I wondered about Amana because I never knew they made furnaces.

Amana for Mfg Home?

Hi, I have an older Nordyne Intertherm and many problems keeping the pilot lit. Today the HVAC guy came out, and as he took things apart, he showed me a potential weak spot in the heat exchanger (?) where a hole may form. He said the furnace should be okay this winter, but next year I should look at...

Re: Earthquakes and Mfg homes

Thanks for the replies! Even if I don't splurge on the pier system, that number for the NW Mobile Home Supply will be handy. I've been wondering where to buy things if I need them. Meanwhile, if we get a big earthquake, I hope I can jump on the bed and ride it out like Dorothy in Kansas. I trust the...

Earthquakes and Mfg homes

In the wake of all the Haiti earthquake news, those of us in the Pacific NW (and I'm sure elsewhere) keep hearing that we're due anytime for the "big" one! It does make me a little nervous when I think about my home, seemingly balanced on cement blocks like a college student's bookshelf......

Newbie owner -- dazed and confused...

I recently bought a 1993 Redman. It's in good shape and I love it! It's very confusing, however, entering the world of mfg homes. I owned stick-built houses long ago -- a 20s house and a Victorian. I did some DIY repairs and improvements. I thought I could do the same with this house, but everything...

RE: MGHA-066ABFC-01 Nordyne Intertherm won't shut off

Thanks for your reply, Robert! I tried the Heat - Auto - 55 degrees suggestion and messed around with the thermostat. Somehow the heater started to behave again and has all weekend. Good thing since we're having a bit of a chilly winter storm here in Oregon!

MGHA-066ABFC-01 Nordyne Intertherm won't shut off

I came home to a 91 degree house tonight (mid-Dec) and the furnace wouldn't shut off unless I turned it off at the electrical main box. Too late to call HVAC repair. Temporary solution: I switched it to AC and set the temp to 75 degrees. Once it hit that mark, the unit turned off, and I set the ther...
