Re: Safe method of work on sub-floor?

I have found that an oscillating cutter, such as fein multimaster, or the craftsman version of the tool, is great for cleaning up sections of old subfloor that the circular saw did not reach, such as cutting the last bit of corners, or near the wall... and it also will clean up the top of the joists...

Re: Pex lines

there are straight pipe pex lines that are nice for the part of the line that goes from the diverter up to the shower head... they also are nice if you run out of the coils of pex pipe and just need a last few feet of pex, if your store does not sell any by the foot amounts.

Re: Need Help Choosing a Front Door

there is frosted contact paper that you can get and cover over most of a door window and just leave a small hole for you to peek out of... I got a used door that had a large window in it, and I put the contact paper on it... it has been on for over a year now, it is holding up well.

I really like how you framed in the heating duct area, I have found that area weak in a lot of homes floors from years of walking on the unsupported area around the duct.

a local community charity has blown insulation into the under belly of homes in the park.. it works ok until you have a repair. it was a mess when I hired someone to do a total home replumb. It landed on the ground, and we had to use regular insulation to repair the areas ... unless you qualify to g...

Re: Kitchen Lighting

I would say the curve is due to the panel being too big. you could get a replacement panel, trim it slightly smaller than the one that warped, and install that. a possible upgrade might be to get the panel, install it smooth side out, and put a stained glass window film on it, and put a light kit on...

Re: Laminate flooring, orientation, transitions and entrance

I do insets of the allure trafficmaster flooring at the exterior doors, and in front of the kitchen sink in the mobile home I renovate... It is very water resistant, and because of the transition strips the water tends to stay mostly there and not get so much on the laminate. There are wood pattern ...
