RE: Creepers?

I drag an old nylon sleeping bag under the home to lay on. I can slide around on it at the spot I am repairing, and it protects me from some of the junk on the ground. It keeps the worse of the dust out of my hair, since I tend to knock my hat off while working. I also am more relaxed and stay warme...

I have an older catalog, it shows the brand as
"philips products" but it could be a different vendor in the more recent catalog.

I do not know if you can get them directly from Philips products, I really doubt that you can, but you never know until you ask! lol

Hi Chris, I used the smallest home fan from home improvement store. without a light, that has the hose/duct run out the side of the fan, and attached it on the surface of the ceiling. The bathroom is very small, I am getting plenty of air flow for removing odors, haven't had hot water to see what it...

Hey Chris I just ordered this exact size window from a mobile home parts vendor for a friends parents ' 2001 mobile home. It is a standard size window. It comes in both as the single pane and as an insulated window. Now, what I did not look into is if it comes in a frosted model, it was for their ba...

I have found a local lumber yard that I give the height of the steps needed, and they adjust the riser height to make it all even out. They then cut the risers out of a 2 x 12 plank. I can also have them cut the treads, posts, etc and I end up with a high quality, very nice looking, very safe and fu...

do you need to remove it? if it is even, and the replacement floor will have an adhesive put down also, can you put plastic drop cloths down on it to walk on until the project starts? I had the same situation, but I was going from stick on tiles to a laminate floating floor, so I stapled 6 mil plast...

there is another fitting brand called a FLAIRIT that will fit the gray pipe. it has the pipe slide in, and then the collar is screwed down, which feels more secure to me than the push in fittings. some rv stores carry them. they are especially helpful if you run into 3/8 pipe. there is one that fits...

Hi Mark, I found a gardening video that says crickets dislike strong smelling spices such as cinnamon, garlic, curry, black pepper, etc. if you can find a cheap spice that you like the scent of, maybe try that under the home. I did not see peppermint mentioned in that video, but I have heard spiders...

Hi Tia, electrical questions are kind of a no-no on the forum, but I will say that the set up sounds kind of old, how about upgrading with a new service panel that uses circuit breakers? then replacement parts will be readily available, service calls from an electrician may take less time, probably ...

our local habitat for humanity surplus store has 18 inch carpet squares for sale, $1 each, which make it about 44 cents a square foot. any and all installation hints would be appreciated. shower part

Hello, I need to find this part. it is the pipe that goes through the wallboard in a shower and connects to a shower head. The piece similar to this that comes with shower faucet sets does not have the extra wide thread at the end that gets the supply line attached at the end, and a washer on the ot...

Another place ducts get disconnected is, they pull off the flooring, and drop into the underbelly, leaving a gap between the flooring and the duct, and the heated air goes into the underbelly. also, if you have central air, check that there is not an air return grate that needs to be covered for the...

Hi Saler, I just visited my cousin in PA at thanksgiving. They had made numerous additions onto their mobile home on their own land over the years, it looked like the final upgrade was a pole barn roof structure over everything to fix all of the roof problems. I didn't ask specifics, lol. The gorgeo...

RE: Electical Question

There is one other type of wiring that you may find in 1970s models, it is copper clad aluminum. it is aluminum inside, copper outside. you have to look at the wire end on, to see if it is aluminum colored in the center. for the work my electrician was doing, it seemed more fragile than copper wirin...
