A Story About Moving

My sister wrote this story about moving to a double wide in NC. I hope y'all like it, I did. She doesn't update her blog constantly so it should be visible at the top for a few days at least. http://planetsspace.blogspot.com/ I just bought and moved into a new single wide two doors from her. I gave ...

Re: Top Load Washer vs. Front Load

I don't know anything about front loaders. Though I've learned over the years that if I kept fabric types/weights similar in each load the spin cycle was smoother. For instance I would mix jeans and bath towels. I wouldn't mix my light weight clothes with heavy fabrics. Maybe that would make a diffe...

Re: Removing nicotine

I knew someone whose walls and ceiling looked like they were dripping with nicotine in the past. I tried Oxyclean powder mixed in warm water. It took it right off.

Re: Small roaches & mice in my house

I had a roach problem a few years ago. They came from the neighbors house. I put combat traps all over the house, in the cabinets and under furniture. It worked good. The neighbors place ended up being gutted. When they put up sheetrock, they put the combat traps behind the walls even. They finally ...

I'm not very good at grill cooking, I tend to overcook.

I have had luck with foil wrapped salmon though! You can put vegetables in the wrap too. Sliced summer squash or zuccini works well.

Wow, I'll have to tell my sister she's lucky. She just bought a new one. It was on display as a cash special. It came to about 55k. I didn't see it on the dealers website either. Maybe it was a discontinued model.

She's moving down here to NC next week.

Sometimes I call it my house that's small and moveable.

Harry I totally agree. My MH is paid for and my lot rent is cheap.

RE: i painted the ugly paneling

Looks good and it looks exactly like the color we used! I posted a picture a while back in the off topics forum. Maybe you can still see it somewhere. Dark paneling makes rooms look small. Our whole place feels bigger since everythings been painted.

Well I got the fan switch and since then haven't been able to afford to have the guy come out and install it. Do you think I could do it myself? I searched through google, ask and diynetwork looking for instructions about how to do it. Google and ask direct me to THIS site! Diy only has maintenance ...

Nordyne Intertherm MGHA-066AAFC-01

When I first moved in, the furnace would cycle on and off too often when it was cold. Then about 3 years ago I called the local repair co. to fix the pilot that wouldn't stay lit. I mentioned the cycling issue and he said I needed a part replaced. He fixed the pilot problem but I didn't do anything ...

RE: Am I paying too much for insurance?

Considering the tornadoes that went through here recently having insurance is a really good idea! I only paid $3000 for the MH, then additional monies for the shed, used furnace and refrigerator. I could probably get a very affordable policy.
