Re: Noisy roof when the wind blows

I have a 1959 Homette, 10' x 50'; on a windy day the roof makes quite a racket! It's never leaked though, I keep the galvinized metal painted. The Jalousie windows are not too wind or waterproof, but I love how they work and how they look.

I have a 1955 ABC "Super Coach" it's only 8'x45' but it was worth repairing. I think if you can do the work, then remodel, if you have to hire everything out, then get something newer, or that only needs cosmetic repair.

Audie! I was stationed at Fort Ritchie, MD in 1987-1991! We were close to Waynesboro, PA so I spent most of my off time there! I remember seeing mobilehomes around the area, but never thought I'd own one; I never considered living in something that once had wheels on it. Fast forward a decade. I've ...

RE: How could someone live in a MH like this?!?!?!

Yikes! I wonder what people thought of my 1955 8'x45' Trailer; it was a mess while I was restoring it! 4 coats of paint over a beautiful alumimum, each layer peeling a different color!

I did donate the junked car to a local scrap dealer who looked like he could use some free metal.

Going to my Mobile up north is one of my favorite things in this world...,I'm so glad I took the plunge and bought it (7 years ago)! It's work; the yard needs maintaining, and I'm still restoring..., but it's paid for, and sort of nice to know this is my land and my house (mobile)! It doesn't seem l...

I was at Ft Knox, back in the late 70's during a trip with the Boy Scouts; they have a great museum honoring General Patton there also.

RE: Replaceing floor under outside walls

Ugh! Now that the weather is better, I'll be rebuilding a rear corner of my mobile.

Part of the floor is rotten, part of the back wall, and part of the side wall. It should be an interesting project. Has anyone here had to rebuild a corner of their home?

RE: :( Mobile Home fire

Recently near Oceana, didn't they close a mobilehome park and throw everyone out? How is management in keeping up the standards in the park? I think it's great there's a place for people to stay that's economical, but I've seen where management lets the standards slip in these parks, and that image ...

RE: This Old Trailer Online

The 1950's were the "golden age" of mobile homes! I never thought much of "trailers" Then I bought some property up North with an old trailer on it, planning on junking it, then I became interested, (why would anyone live in something that had wheels on it?!) Fast forward. 6 year...
