Re: Mysterious "Dripping" Sound

I think I know what it is!!! Pick me, pick me... Take the lid off of your toilet. Is the level all the way up to the top of the tube? There's your "leak". Lower the float so that the water level is below that tube and the mysterious dripping should cease. The reason it would happen and sto...

Re: hot water heater.......

The water heater decided it wanted me to open the wall up last night rather than wait a couple weeks! Now it has a leak on top!!! Can anyone say, "New access panel" I removed a small piece of wall. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/hs065.snc6/167546_10150387932400323_661020322_16...

Re: Laminate Countertops Falling Apart

Another tip I learned when cutting counter top is to like JD said cut from the bottom but before doing that run a strip of tape along where you are going to cut. My local home depot wizard showed me this trick it works pretty well.

Re: hot water heater.......

I'm glad you found a simple solution for yours. Trust me it could be much worse. I'm sure you'll be installing an access panel to make things easier if you ever have to get to this thing again. My 1991 Southwind 14 X 70 also started tripping the power breaker this week. After I moved the washer &...

RE: Bought home, part stick/part mod in MI, no title, no vin

Harry is right on the mark. I went out and looked at my home and sure enough the VIN is deeply stamped into the metal right by the hitch, on both sides.

RE: new/introducing; question about moving a MH

Not only does my closest family members live hundreds of miles away from me but they would NEVER consider living in something that ever had wheels underneath it. Their loss, I love not writing out a mortgage check each month.

RE: New Washer and Dryer?

My washer and dryer are Frigidaire Gallery Series. *Note* Just about all of the new type of dryers have reversible doors. This comes in handy if you stack the dryer on top of the washer. Since my laundry room ceiling is only 7' tall, I can just fit a 12" pedestal, then the washer and then the d...

RE: New Washer and Dryer?

I bought a set of the new type washer/dryer for a bit of a different reason. Most of the new type front loaders are stackable. I stacked the washer and dryer then used the spot that the dryer would normally occupy for an upright freezer.

I love how quiet the washer and dryer are to operate.

RE: Cost of moving a mobile home

For comparison reason; In Georgia I got a quote on moving and set up of a 1987 14 X 70 mobile home. A within county move would have cost me $1500 and an out of county would have cost me around $2100.

RE: What to turn off during short vacation

Often I find myself out of town for several days at a time. I turn my water off at the meter and flip the main breaker on the way out the door. Since the only thing gas in my home is the furnace, my gas is only on in the winter months.

RE: Clayton I-House

I actually like the layout of my trailer better than any of the two bedroom models offered. The I-House suffers from what I call "trailer hallway."

RE: dishwasher water hot while hot water heater is off....

Right now I use a portable dishwasher and I've found that it doesn't matter if I turn on the hot or cold water when I connect it to the sink because the dishwasher heats the water pretty quickly.

RE: Carpet under Carpet?

Yanita, I think you called it right. There is no padding under the second layer of carpet. All they installed was two layers of carpet. That had to be more expensive but I'm sure the laborers weren't paying.

Carpet under Carpet?

Here is a strange situation that I have found. I started removing the carpet from the living room of my 1987 Redman mobile home. What do you think I found under the carpet? More carpet?!? The carpet I am removing has to be original because it goes UNDER the walls. It is almost the same color but wit...

RE: The End.....

I love your pictures and the work you've done gives me plenty of inspiration for things I want to do. However, I have one question and someone else may know this answer... I notice that your laminate floor runs lengthwise instead of across the trailer. Is there a reason you chose this way or was it ...
