Re: Sagging floor under toilet, need help with size of shutoff fittings

I have seen where those types of fittings have been discussed here as one of the moderators is a professional plumber. But! It seems there ain't nobody here but us chickens anymore. Not sure what has happened - but it's pretty much dead.

Re: New Pex Water Line Installed

Unless you have fervently re-sealed any and every breach in that belly material - you are fighting a losing battle especially if there is any breach bigger than 1/2" anywhere in the belly material and/or the skirting. The critters are relentless! - AND - once they gain access to the belly, thei...

One finger salute to the idiots in the mobile home industry

Folks, i am sick and tired of everytime i have to fix something on this fat critter that i have to make multiple trips into town for what should have been a standardized part. This soap box rant is all about plumbing fittings...and how the idiots in the mobile home industry used what ever was cheape...

Re: Where to stop new subflooring at door threshold

I'm thinking it probably doesn't matter. I would (myself) probably due the mid-line simply to follow suit for carpet or flooring install. that said, I would add in some type of support beneath the cut....even if it's just a piece of 2x6 centered across the cut.

Re: Finishing Wall Seams

The people who owned my dblwide before me, took out all the seam trim, did a basic tape and bed, and then textured the walls. The tape has popped at every single seam simply due to "movement" of the walls. i hate the seam trim as much as anyone else - but the eyesore of popped tape is just...

Re: Mobile home replumb + Water heater; $15,000 estimate

Due to a couple critters who were over-joyed with the ammenities offered by a nice warm belly - I had it all torn out. Every last drop of it. Then i had an outfit come in and do the spray foam. They did the bottom of the flooring and the joists - and anything else that go t in their way EXCEPT elect...

Re: Is this forum still active??

It's been a bit of a ghost town for awhile now. And, there seems to be an issue with trying to post anything. I get caught in a sign-in to reply, and sign-in endless circle. Doesn't seem any body is paying any attention to that.....

Re: Removing garden tub/replacing vanity

I have no idea what has happened to any of the moderators...but I will give this a shot! The water lines for my garden tub come up through the floor. Being i am replacing the garden tub with a *real* walk-in shower, I will have to relo them to a standup wall that will form one of the ends of the sho...

Re: Electric water heater, standard VS. MH specific

If you've been using a "regular" water heater all this time, I wouldn't worry that a new one is gonna somehow burn the place down. Besides, they would have to prove that you were a bad, bad boy and put in a "regular" WH! LOL! I've replaced mine twice and it is most definitely a r...

Re: Frustrating Fascia

I have replaced my facia on the front and back sides. I pulled the old stuff off - and bared it all the way down to the rafter tails. Watch out for your drip edge !! I screwed a 6x1 to the rafter tails, splicing boards between the tails as needed. Then I ripped lengths of LP SmartSide (without the g...

Re: Don't Have a Hitch/Tongue!

If you bought it brand spanking new - and had it delivered - then I will bet money, marbles and chalk that the axles/wheels AND the tongue were on YOUR invoice. In toher words, YOU paid of for them. Being the installers took them - that is called theft. I would be on the phone with the dealer raisin...

Re: Kitchen lighting---I want recessed though

On a lighter note... "need a flashlight to look inside my dryer!" you need my big old black lab dog! I have no idea why - but he is obsessed with the dryer - but only when the door is open. He will literally stick his head in the dryer, and just stand there looking around. I can't help but...

Re: Kitchen lighting---I want recessed though

Consider doing pendant lights rather than "spot lights" Do an internet search for 'track lighting pendants'. There are hundreds of designs that should be able to spread the light around. Ok..so my kitchen has 2 ceiling lights in the kitchen area, and one ceiling fan over the dining table. ...
