Love this! I found an old wheelbarrow too, but my husband took it back. :D

Re: PaperIllusion

I've never used it, but have seen some impressive pictures of paper illusions used on countertops. A friend of mine has used it on a small wall, and it looks good. What you have done sounds good also.

Re: Painting walls

Do you remember if you primed before painting? After cleaning the walls, I use a bonding primer and let that dry at least overnight. It should "bond" with the vinyl, or at this point, what's already on your walls. Then the paint should adhere to the primer.

Re: Wall/batten refinishing question

Bet it's too late now, but yes, I always prime before applying the joint compound. I knew a man who was so disappointed because he said the jc literally came off the walls. I never found out for sure, but I always suspected that it was because he didn't prime first. It scared me into priming. :)

New Paint For Cabinets

This is new to me and I thought some of you would like to know about it. I saw it on another forum and someone used it on an end table, (though it's really for cabinets) and it looks like a factory finish.

Re: Joint Compound (Faux) Stones

Quinnbeia, I'm so sorry you lost your pics! How frustrating to do all that hard work and not have the pics that captured the renovation. Can you take new pics of the finished results? It won't show the steps, but it's better than nothing. Don't feel bad, these things happen unfortunately.

Re: Laminate Countertops Falling Apart

Hmm, seems like I've seen someone on TV apply heat with an iron to activate the glue or something. I'm not sure how to go about it without damaging the laminate. Maybe someone here has seen that.???

Re: Mobile Home Exterior Doors

Thanks for confirming that it's a possibility. I'm excited at the idea; of course getting hubby excited may be another matter. ;) There's a faux for everything else, so I figure, why not a door?

Mobile Home Exterior Doors

Has anyone ever seen a way to put something on a typical door to disquise the fact that it's a, well..... typical door? :) I'm having this far out idea about attaching a sheet of wood, cut to fit, trimming it out somehow, and painting it. 1: It will cover that little rectangle shaped glass, and 2: ...
