Re: Installed LP Wall Mounted Heater in 14 X 70

Thanks for the feedback, Greg. I asked that because the brand new flare tool would not grip the tubing. The tubing just pushed thru the tool instead of flaring. So I had to determine if I had the wrong size/type of tubing or the tool was defective. I went to an auto store and bought one of their too...

Re: Installed LP Wall Mounted Heater in 14 X 70

A couple more things about the installation of this heater. No one store had all the pipe and/or brass fittings needed. I had to go to four different stores to get everything. Lowes is suppose to have a flexible line system with a regulator for 100 lb. tanks, but was sold out and weeks away from get...

Installed LP Wall Mounted Heater in 14 X 70

This week I purchased and installed a 20,000 BTU (2 Gas Option) heater in a 14 X 70. It's suppose to heat 700 sq. ft.. The heater was purchased from Lowes. The heater is a Feature Comforts brand and can be set on the floor or wall mounted. I fabricated a wall bracket out of wood with a 3/4" thi...

Re: 14 x 70 Renovations

Yantia/Greg, Thank you for your replies. This 14 x 70 still has the OEM metal track window, 30" x 54". No storm windows at all. Other than not being energy efficient, the windows work well (tracks are smooth operating) and the seals are still good. I'm planning on good quality double pane ...

Re: 14 x 70 Renovations

It's been several weeks since this year's renovations were completed. Three observations: 1. It's much quieter inside the M.H. with the new insulation and siding. The siding "creaked" for a few days after the job was finished, right after sundown, as the temp outside dropped. But seems to ...

There are now a few 'Before' and 'After' photos in the Exterior album.

I'll post a few more next time I'm on a WiFi connection. (Out here in the country, there is no cable, WiFi or DSL, and satellite accounts are difficult to get.)

The siding job was finally completed yesterday. The company owner apologised for it taking ten working days. But the siding looks good (Mastic brand). Fit and finish is good. This completes the major repairs and renovations for this year. There are still a few minor projects such aas adding an addit...

Robert, You had a lot of spiders. Sounds like a colony of them. Or is that normal population? Did you make these glue traps? I'd like to try that. On another forum, there's a fellow from Tenn. whose hilltop property is infested with rattle snakes. I wouldn't want to come eyeball-to-eyeball with one ...

I thought I'd be posting the 'Before' and 'After' photos by now. The siding job is going into the eighth day and the company is saying it won't be done until this next Monday. Most of the time it's one man working by himself. Occassionally, another one joins him. He is doing a good job, though. The ...

cskal, Pleased be advised, I'm only reporting on what I did and not making recommendations on how to do it. I used Hot Shot Fogger (shake well before using) in the green 6 oz. can. The can says "Order Neutralizer" on the side. These came from Lowes. Follow the directions for square footage...

When I started renovations, before removing the old skirting, I fumigated the underside thoroughly, since this M.H. is at the edge of a woods, in some trees. I had some old PVC pipe, 1/2" and 3/4" from another project. I selected (4) 6-8 foot long pipes and taped bug bomb cans to the end o...

Follow-up on the automatic vents in the skrting: Neither I, or the CertainTeed skirting installer could find a suitable manually operated vent with a maximum depth of 2" so as not to hit the frame. The openings he cut were 8" x 15". He came back with the first auto-vents and suggested...

Another note on installing siding on a M.H.. The installer told me about having to locate where the electrical wires run in a horizontal metal channel or conduit in the walls. (maybe someone with M.H. electrical experience could say what the correct name and construct of this). He has to make sure n...
