Insulating Vent Stack

I have what looks like about a 4" space around the vent pipe itself as it goes thru the ceiling. I have noticed an immense amount of heat pours down thru this during the summer. Does this cause a loss in the efficiency of my cooling with A/C? If so...what do you recommend? I have a Coleman Pres...

RE: air leaks etc...

Does anyone have a suggestion for air leaks thru wall plugs in recepticles? My home is only 14 yrs old and has these problems. On windy days I get a pretty good breeze thru the slots.

RE: Frostline Piers

The long term plan is to build an addition for a new Family room and bedroom. We need more space when the kids show up. Idealy we would like to add around 900 sq ft. (24 x 40). My In-laws added to their MH without frost piers and haven't had any problems. Theirs was a 24 x 20 addition about 10 yrs a...

Frostline Piers

Ok..Here is my next question. If I am going to relevel my MH, Would it be practical to even consider putting in frostline piers? It sounds like an awful lot of work after the fact. What would it involve on an existing set up home? Would it be to cosly at this point? Our frostline is 4 foot deep. Tha...

Sorry Yanita,

I have no link at the top saying 'My profile Space". I have "Blogs" links. Have also tried the Home page but have found nothing.

RE: Bowed wall panelling

Thanks Yanita - I have tried to figure out how to fill out the profile but I havn't found anything at the top of the home page or anywhere else. Even tried clicking on my own name to see if I could do anything. This is a great site and I appreciate everyone's help. I did as Harry said..removed the p...

RE: Bowed wall panelling

Ok...I have pulled the panel off and now I notice there is no vapor barrier between the panel and insulation. Could that have any bearing on the problem as well?

RE: Bowed wall panelling

Thanks for the help. I have put a level on the floor and things seem to be ok from that angle. (Maybe thats not good enough?) I can push the panel back against the studs, probably a good inch in the middle, however it just springs back when i take my hand off. None of the other panels seem to be aff...

Bowed wall panelling

Ok...I bought mark's book and am ready to tackle almost anything. Our sons have moved out and we are now left with a bedroom with holes in the walls from all those brotherly battles! I decided to try Mark's idea of making the walls look like textured drywall. Not doing to bad...but....What can I do ...
