Re: Frozen service line?

Thanks Greg. I had had 4 days worth of heat under the house but was getting nothing. About 2 hours ago it finally broke free. I think I was a combination of freezes, The T at the hot water, & the gate valve or main line. Unfortunately, the main line now needs to be replaced. I think I can live f...

Frozen service line?

I've not had water since 2/1. Have had heat under the home for 3 days so I'm pretty sure it isn't the line from the service to the house (line is "flexible" & doesn't feel frozen). I have the city coming out to check that it isn't the meter that is frozen sometime today. My gut feeling...

Re: faux bathroom?

Glad to be of help Rhonda. You will be suprised at how much it will transform your batrooms. They go from boring/cheap to really nice. And no one needs to know that you didn't place every tile.

Good luck & hope to see pictures of your bathrooms when you're done.

Re: faux bathroom?

They have "special" things....not sure what you call them but they are shaped kind of like an I that the panels slide into when joing two panels. Sorry....I never know the "technical" terms but I know what I mean. I will say that I did run a bead of caulk where I used these...

Re: faux bathroom?

Not sure if you are asking about tile for the walls/shower surround or the floor. If you are asking about the shower surround I have used DPI Aqua Tile paneling. http://www.decorativepanelsinternational.com/aquatile.html if you care to look at designs. It is made for wet areas (triple checked that b...

Re: Laminiate Flooring

I installed Lumber Liquidators laminate in every room except "wet" areas. Yes I did it myself. It isn't difficult to do but it IS labor intensive when you consider being on your hands and knees for a couple of days. LOL I ran my the length of the home as well. It does not make the home loo...

Filtering the A coil

Today I replaced my 11 year old Coleman AC. After the replacement I was told that the A coil was full of pet hair. I replace the filters on the blower cover regularly. What else can I do to prevent the pet hair from being sucked into the A coils from the bottom half of the unit? (Besides following t...

Gun slot window ideas

Time to put your thinking caps on gals & guys. My front entry door has a gun slot window. http://mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/userpix/1810_door_1.gif I am soliciting ideas to prevent "visitors" from looking in the window but I at the same time I want to be able to let light in when I wan...

RE: Trafficmaster Allure flooring

Apologies if this takes the OP off topic. I live in Zone 6 & along about this time of year our weather gets pretty cold. If there were no carpeting installed I've often wondered how cold the floors/house would be since my home isn't on a permanent foundation/closer to the ground. Opinions please...

RE: countertop

Oh oh oh! I can hardly sit still long enough to post a thank you. I have hated my counter tops for a very long time now. I do believe a colorblind man picked the schemes for my home & they just aren't....appealing. Gray....throughout. How depressing. I've lived with these counters for 11 years n...
