RE: Need some help with my countertops... please (pics enclo
In looking at her pic of the framing used for those countertops, I see that I have the same set up. I had a Moen faucet installed last year. Noticed recently that -- aggg -- my countertop behind that faucet has a deep crack in it from the end of the faucet counter plate back to the wall behind the f...

RE: Roof Load Zone Map
A friend with a double-wide on 10 acres in panhandle Idaho..just outside Moscow, Idaho...experienced beam failure, ceiling collapse during the snow of last week. Contractor told him that snow load requirement for his place is 60 psf???? They are trying to determine if his walls will support that typ...

RE: Roof Load Zone Map
Nice map. From what I heard on the news, we needed to have 40PSF to deal with the snow here in SE Washington. I'm 6 miles from Idaho and about 50 miles or so north of Oregon...so right on the area where the three states converge, although I'm on a plateau at about 2000 feet above sea level. Many roo...

RE: Yikes. Freaked. Roof deflection
Hi --- I see the subject of snow load has come up. Yes, my place -- a Rex -- was designed for this climate. I just learned today that a good friend/CPA/CPF, his double-wide roof here collapsed, same time, from the same snow. His home is being considered for total loss by insurance company as two loc...

RE: Yikes. Freaked. Roof deflection
Hi JD, Greg, Dean3, Demolition and Shadow... I'm writing a quick note this morning to say thank you so very much for the support and counsel. When something like this happens to your "nest," it's frightening and stressful. Ignorance of the structural design and how to solve the problem you...

RE: Yikes. Freaked. Roof deflection
Hi...again... What a day! Well, the snow is all off the roof and I was told that despite the snow depth being low from the warming lull we're in, the weight of the snow was very heavy because of the rain that fell and was absorbed. After removal of the snow, the ceiling in my living room lost the hu...

Yikes. Freaked. Roof deflection
Hi... Snow here has been horrid. Then it turned to rain. Today, the snow is about three inches on rooftop, thankfully, but the bad news is that this morning I noticed a large deflection in the living room ceiling. Home is an 80x14 single wide, flat (slight dome) roof. It's in excellent shape (or was...

Re: RE: Front Screen Door
I installed a storm door. I bought it from local lumber supply which is owned by a fellow here and not part of a chain or franchise. I bought just the door. I wish it had a frame as that was made here. The old mobile home "frame" was removed and a standard wood frame was made and installed...

RE: Front Screen Door
The one I bought and installed had to be trimmed to fit the door frame. When it was trimmed, a water sealant was applied to the cut area to prevent water/moisture from creeping into the cut area.

RE: Can I install a "normal" bathtub?
Our replace is of a 27x54 tub with a 30x54 tub. Dimension-wise, I thought it would be fine. I went from a plastic tub to a steel/enameled one. Now I wish I'd bought a fiberglass. But, oh well. I anticipated that the drain on the new would easily match up with the drain on the old. I did predict that...

Hmmm, thinking on this, Steve. THANK YOU for the help.
I'm not understanding your instructions.
Cut the Ptrap at bottom and use "no hub " connector to move 1" closer to tub drain
You mean at the bottom of the U in the P-trap? Or where the trap connects to the sain-tee?

RE: Tub Plumbing Question: Now Desperate for ideas. Please?
Hey Everybody..... You have no idea how GOOD it feels right now to see all of you chiming in to help. Right now, we have no shower, no tub, no washer, no dryer, a partially connected toilet (for easy remove) and an 18-year-old acting like a cat with his tail under a rocking chair. So I broke down an...
