Re: Ventilation question
Oh and the sheets are wedged into place and not going anywhere, we had to basically use a board and hammer them into place so it's pretty solid in there and they don't move at all. Except of course the very last piece we installed =)

Re: Ventilation question
Well we got a good deal on the insulation so it's between a 1 1/2" to 2" depending on the piece lol. And it is rigid pieces. I have no idea what kind of skirting I have though, sorry. My Dad brought a roll of stuff, I think that goes under the shingles on a roof and we put sheets of that b...

Ventilation question
So this past fall I ended up insulating on the backside of the skirting. With my Dad helping me we managed to get it all done but boy what a pain crawling around under there is! Good news is it helped out big time in my mind. I had a remote thermometer down there and the lowest the temperature got a...

Re: Keeping water lines and water pressure tank from freezin
So I am now ready for winter! My dad helped me install a GFI switch in my panel box that now controls the heat tape so I don't have to crawl under there to turn it on and off. We also finished insulating all the way around the skirting. What a pain that was but I think it should be worth it. I bough...

Re: Moisture on windows
Greg, The moisture is on the room side of the windows, now if I didn't want to have to run a dehumidifier all the time because of the electricity bill would getting new windows fix the problem? Of course I don't really have the money for new windows either so running a dehumidifier may be the way I ...

Moisture on windows
I have been noticing alot of moisture on the windows on the whole front side of my home. The back windows don't seem to get as much or any moisture. I just happened to pull the blinds up today and noticed that there was mold all along the bottom of the windows now because of it. How can I get rid of...

Skirting and Vent question
Well I got a 2 part question was hoping you guys might be able to help out with. First question is about the little track thing that the skirting slides into on the bottom that is nailed to the concrete (sorry I dont know if there is a term for it). In some places there seems to be gaps that water a...

Wiring question
So as I had some of my underbelly opened up to move my water pressure tank I noticed these small wires, one red, one blue and one white underneath the floors. We were working close to one end of the home so I could see where those wires came out and they connected to....nothing. I couldn't see where...

Re: Keeping water lines and water pressure tank from freezin
Well it took most of the day but I got my water pressure tank moved inside! One less thing I have to worry about freezing, we got it all hooked back up and everything worked fine without any leaks so I was pretty happy.

Underbelly repairs
So planning on moving my pressure tank into the house this week. And while I'm under there I know there is some spots where there is small holes in the underbelly as well as a spot underneath each bathroom that is hanging down. My question is what is the best way to repair this? Do I just put a piec...

Re: Keeping water lines and water pressure tank from freezin
That's a pretty good idea but yeah the dryer vent is quite a ways away from where the water line comes up from the slab, basically my dryer is right next to an exterior wall and it vents out right next to it. I actually just talked to my Dad and he is going to spot me the money to get all the skirti...
