Re: Jalousie/louvre window sash replacement

I live in a mobile home park... and they have rules against broken/boarded up windows and plastic on the outside. :/

No hope for replacing the glass, eh? >disappointed<

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b10/feeeeline/October%20MH%20updates/001.jpg Plexi-glass held in place by little nylon buttons. Should have used thicker plexi-glass (and might have, if I hadn't been trying to do it so cheaply). Total cost in the $14 range. Still, MUCH better than a gaping hole co...

Re: Jalousie/louvre window sash replacement

Oh Dale. :) Yes... you're absolutely right, but some background might be in order. In order to entirely replace this particular window, I'm thinking... The wall is collapsing because someone misguidedly installed a roof-over, did so improperly and without reinforcing the wall and without first re-le...

Jalousie/louvre window sash replacement

Hi all... no, you didn't get rid of me so easy. I'm going to make it through the winter in this place if I have to hold it together with chewing gum and bailing wire. :D I must be running a poor choice of words for a search, because I'm not coming up with much on how to replace a broken sash on my o...

Re: Roof caving in (72' single wide)

Hang in there, girl! If it were me, and I didn't have any overhang to prop things under to support the roof weight, I'd be busy for the next couple of days taking off the current roof and getting some tarps! At least it's not winter yet, right? :D How difficult can a caving-in roof tear-off...

Roof caving in (72' single wide)

I'd expressed concerns earlier about this. Someone put a shingled roof-over on this place at some point. I was sort of hoping it wouldn't be an issue. Of course, "Man plans, God laughs". The back door of the place seemed sealed awfully tight when I first looked at it (move in day... I wasn...

Oh, Bob... indeed. A budget is kind of grand talk for what I'm currently working with.

Re: Curve in the shower...

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b10/feeeeline/September%20MH%20pictures/001-1.jpg There is a very slight curve to the design of this shower wall. Fortunately, Greg, you were correct. It was slight enough that we were able to get a tight enough fit. No water goes past those face plates. Mischief m...

Curve in the shower...

My kid and I were attempting to install a new faucet assembly in the shower.

The shower has a very small amount of curve to it. The faucets and spigot do not sit exactly flush with the surface.

Beside silicon, is there something different we should be doing?

Re: Patio cover replacement panels

Thanks, everyone!

I've not made a firm decision, given the information, whether or not the patio cover goes. As 1987Com mentioned, I do have the trees for shade, and I'm trying to be practical. The money from the scrap price might buy me a bit of flooring for the interior... tough decision. :/

Before... http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b10/feeeeline/001.jpg After getting the carpet out. Not the best "project picture", really. Just made me happy to have something like a place to relax, besides my bed. :) http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b10/feeeeline/007.jpg The smell is VASTLY...

Patio cover replacement panels

One of the reasons I'm fond of this little MH is a nice deck, and a patio cover over it. Unfortunately, the panels look to me as though they're no where near slanted enough to shed snow or even leaves very well. This idea is born out in the fact that many of the panels are damaged, and a few were ev...

I thank EVERYONE for your replies!!!! I'm reading all the articles, ordering "the book", watching every youtube video and reading the comments section below each (because often comments indicate a better/safer/saner way). I owned a 1967 single-wide for about 9 years, without the benefit (!...
