more about cleaning w-heater

Hello, Good info on the previous post about cleaning electric w-heater. I think i need to do the same. My question is: can I stick something in the drain valve hole to loosen up an stir the junk that is clogging the drain while the tank is draining so the junk continues to come out? Are there parts ...

Re: Anti Freeze V.S. Windshield washer fluid.

Thanks for your comments.
I will not take a chance and will use the Antifreeze instaed of the washer fluid.
I am sure that any washers or other plumbing parts that come in contact will be safer as well because
the antifreeze seems to be sort of oily or lubricated.
Thanks again

Anti Freeze V.S. Windshield washer fluid.

A plumber told me that after he blows out the waterline, he uses windshield washer fluid in his water lines instead of RV Antifreeze when winterizing his M.H. What do you think? Are there benefets to each one except for the cost? I want to keep fluid in the lines due to alot of iron in the water. La...

Re: PEX CRIMPING TOOL

The gauge that I have has one slot with a line about 1/4 way up. If the crimp only goes part of the way up, its a Go. If the crimp ring fits all of the way in the slot then its a No/Go. I'm sure there is a reason why you should not over crimp, but you would think that the tighter the better. I am us...

PEX CRIMPING TOOL

Hi, I purchased a pex crimping tool and practiced with it on some small lengths of tubing. The 3/4 crimp was fine the 1/2 crimped to much.(i think) In Marks book it shows that if the crimp fits all the way in the go/nogo gauge, its a good crimp. My book from Mark is not avalible right now to look at...

Are Mobile H toilets the same size as stick built Home toilets?
I know that sink and tub sizes are different.

Re: Partial water line replacement

Hello, An update and a couple more Questions. I was up to the MH last weekend to take a looksie. I was suprised to find that the waterlines did not run along the outside of the MH like I thought. From under the outside Waterheater closet and water intake, the waterlines run to the middle of the MH t...

fixing the edge of underbelly

while under my MH last week I noticed that some of the underbelly was pulling away from the edge of the MH. How do I attached this material back to the steel frame of the MH?
There is no water leakage, everything is dry.
Thanks.

Partial water line replacement

I have an older seasonal MH (1984) near Upper Michigan. Last year was the first time that i winterized a MH. I just blew out the waterlines and that was I did. Going forward I will also fill the lines with RV antifreeze to keep the pipes from rusting. I have a well and there is a lot of iron in the ...

Hello, This weekend I will be back up to Upper Michigan to open and turn the Plumbing on my seasonal MH. This was the first winter that I winterized a M.H. I hope the pipes are O.K. Last fall I blew out the lines and hope I got all of the water out! As I was doing this last fall, I noticed under the...

winter sewer

Hi, I winterized my vacation M.H. in November. It is in northern Wis. I would like to go up there to do some ice fishing, but I do not want to turn the warer back on, just to blow the lines back out 2 days later. My question is: Do you think it would be O.K. to leave the water off and bring a 5 gall...

Re: air compressor

Hi it's me again. Another question about draning the water system. Will the outside waterspicket allow air to enter? Is there something that restricts anything from going in that faucet and only lets water out. Some guy told me that that the outside faucet only lets water flow out and that there mig...

air compressor

Hello, I need to winterize my mobile home in a few weeks 'northern wis' and have never done this before. I am going to blow the pipes from the outside waterspicket with an air compressor and run the faucets, unless someone here has a better or easier way. I am open to all ideas. I know that I will n...
