Re: What to do with mold
Like the others I'm no mold expert but I do know it's nothing to take lightly. I worked in Las Vegas, Nevada for 10 years during the housing boom and mold lawsuits were serious business (for good reason). The only advice I can give is be careful when removing it. Mask, gloves, etc. We had a little i...

Re: Suggestions for air nail gun for trim work
I just got a Ryobi 18v cordless nailer and have been pretty pleased with it thus far. Have only done a little trim work in a room, but I've got a whole house ahead of me and I feel like it is going to work out great! Here is a link to the Home Depot site: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-18-Volt-One...

Yeah I don't know about things like that. I can't think of any small appliances we might of had out there. I have some power tools out there that fair fine.

Re: Do I need a special stove/range for an older mobile home
I can't speak specifically on a 1974, but we replaced our electric range (220V) in our 2001 last year with no issues. The concerns for us that we checked before purchasing the new range/oven was amperage of the existing 220V, physical width/size of unit, and of course looks.
Good luck!

Re: What can you keep in an outside storage shed in a warm a
I live outside Houston, TX and basically keep anything I want in our shed. I don't keep things like pictures, electronics, or clothes out there and so far so good.

Whole House Water Shut-Off
Hey ya'll, I can't seem to find a main water shut off for our home, either inside or outside. All of the plumbing fixtures have valves which is great, but I can't find a main. There is a valve next to the water heater but that didn't seem to do anything. I even closed valves at our well and the wate...

Re: Total Remodel - Project 2: Kitchen
First, let me say that I've really been enjoying your posts. It's funny because you're basically doing the same remodel as we are! Drywall, texture, front door, etc...so it's fun reading/seeing what someone else is doing. Anyhow, so the ceiling pipe. We removed a fireplace from our place that had a ...

Re: Plumbing Under Bath Sink
Well, JD called it....the tension that is. I un-did everything and pulled the vanity to find that the pipe had cracked but someone just foamed the heck out of it. Oddly enough, it worked and the underbelly does not appear to be damaged! No mold or anything, so either I'm really lucky, or the previou...

Re: More Wall Removal Advice Needed
Thanks for the advice guys! I like the pillar idea as well. We want to put an island there, so I was thinking that a couple of 18"-24" x 18"-24" columns might not be a bad idea esthetically anyways. I'm going to kick this all around some more and let you know which route I go in ...

More Wall Removal Advice Needed
Hey Gang, Just getting into the remodel process of a 2001 double wide we have purchased. I know this topic is covered A LOT on this forum, but like everyone else I would like "expert" advice on whether or not a wall is a load bearing wall and removeable. We want to take out a wall/cabinets...

Re: Buying on Line?
Here's a question from a newbie... do you HAVE to buy a sink (or anything else for that matter) from an actual mobile home supply house? I understand some items in mobile homes are smaller, but even the kitchen sink?
Thanks, Ed

Tile in M.Closet for Water Heater??
Hey Everyone! First post since getting registered and brand new first time mobile home'r. Very happy to be on the forum!! Any how, we purchased a 2000 mobile home and the water heater is in the master walk-in closet. Instead of carpet in the closet it is linoleum. I'm wondering if this is because of...
