Back to say Hi.

Hello everyone, Well, it has been almost two years since we had to relocate from the MH park. I have been past it a few times. The property has been for sale for awhile now, weeds grow up all over and now they are starting to cut down all the trees. We are living near the downtown area of Appleton i...

Movin to town

Well, we found a house and will be finishing moving this week. Instead of being out on the edge of town, we will be in an older neighborhood close to downtown (Appleton,WI). We have already met some of our neighbors. "Scooter", our 8 month old cocker spaniel, decided to sneak out the front...

RE: Have to vacate park by June 30th

Greg: Buying the park for us owners is not an option. It would cost a minimum of $500,000 just to run the sewer and water from the city, underneath a 4 lane divided Hwy. The former owner of the park could have done that a long time ago, a lot cheaper. Harry: I hate to see older folks being put off t...

Have to vacate park by June 30th

The writing is on the wall now. The park did not sell at the auction on April 21st, so now the remainder of the people at our park have until June 30th to vacate. After that date the water will be turned off. The lawyer for the lien holder said that we could just sign an abandonment form and leave o...

We are going to be in prayer on this thing, along with some inquiries into some of the other MH communities in our area. The websites suggested in the reply's will be a great help. E...

Re: RE: Mobilehome park in recievership

My parents went through something real similiar in Florida. The Park was sold. The new owners wanted to build condos. The tenants banded together and spent thousands on attorneys. In the end they paid their attorneys and watched there houses be demolished without a dime for them. Mark Not what I wa...

You may want to do a google and find out who regulates mobile home parks in your state. you can then find out what the regulations state. Many owners have been in your shoes, especially in beach front areas. Greg Thanks for advice. We don't have beach front property, but the landfill is 1/2 mile ea...

RE: roof question

How about a rubber roof? Ours was on when we bought the place ten years ago, and we don't have any leaks or rumble. I think they are supposed to last around 25 years or so. Also a lot easier to install than trusses, sheathing and shingles. I believe the price is reasonable also.

Mobilehome park in recievership

The owner of the park I live in has been forclosed upon, and the park is supposed to go up for auction in April, unless He (the owner) comes up with the $300,000. Currently, the park is in rerceivership with a local law firm. The owner had a lot of homes he rented out, and didn't take care of, and r...

RE: replacing front entry door

Thanks for the advice everyone. I have done quite a bit of carpentry work in my life, I just didn't want to spend so much for a MH door if I did't have too.

replacing front entry door

Is it ok to replace a entry door with a non-mobile home type of door like you would get at Menards? My brother said that you have to use a door just made for mobile homes because of heaving and such. The doors from Mobile Home Stuff are like $500.00 and I don't want to spend that much.
