Re: Buying on Line?

do you HAVE to buy a sink (or anything else for that matter) from an actual mobile home supply house? I understand some items in mobile homes are smaller, but even the kitchen sink? If items fit, go ahead and use them from wherever you can get them. You have to verify sizes of replacements and not ...

Re: Water leak. Best way to open belly?

Water supply is gray plastic. I expect to find a loose crimp on a connector. I was thinking I would X-cut between corners of a square. That way each piece has more support to keep from falling back out when I'm done. I thought I could staple up a stiff plastic cardboard to seal it up and keep critte...

Water leak. Best way to open belly?

I have a toilet on on END wall that has froze the water supply lines a couple of time in the last couple of weeks. The skirting is loose there right now and I didn't realize how how cold it as getting and how matted the insulation is under the pipe that is supposed to be keeping frost away... I craw...

Nifty new skirting option

I am putting together a double-wide that I moved. I have been trying to figure out what to use for skirting: https://www.mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8780 We came upon a [looks like :?: ] nice option: Garage door panels . :!: We had a big hail storm in the area last spring and ...

Are you saying I need a trap in the sewer drain pipe under the MH?
There wasn't before.
I don't remember seeing a sewer trap under other units I have had to mess with.

Re: Drywall Hat Channel

Does the ceiling already have drywall on it and you want to add more? Is it messed up or something else? I don't think changing the hanging direction of drywall sheets on the ceiling is going to change the load on the trusses. It isn't like it is only hanging from the edges. It still has to support ...

Re: Winterizing a manufactured home

If the faucets that you have are the type that have the looong stem that shuts off the valve way inside and that doesn't freeze, you might not have to do anything. If your faucet is just a valve on the outside of the building, you probably need to find some way to drain it. Hopefully when it was ins...

Re: heat tape check

My thoughts on heat tapes in general: Check it with your hand or a temperature shooter in several places. If your heat tape is the type that just plugs in and is on, then you can probably check it with an ohm meter. The meter will just tell you that there is a couple of ohms of resistance. Not defin...

New set up questions. Pipes, skirting.

I moved a double-wide. Setting it up now on a NEW lot. Having to install everything. Putting this on concrete stringers. Hopefully this is a permanent installation. Needs new shingles on roof and new siding. I am trying to figure out the right way to do water and sewer pipes and skirting. I have see...
