Question about purchasing MH
Hope this is allowed here We currently live in a Golden West on 10 acres in California. We just purchased 20 acres in Idaho and have been looking for Manufactured/modular and stick built options. I have found a Fleetwood floor plan that I really like, but I’m concerned about the quality of Fleetwood...

Re: Garden tub to shower
I was thinking a pre fab shower enclosure type setup. Blocks would be an option if they were sealed with a good caulk type seal I guess. I will take a pic and post it so you can see what I am talking about.

Garden tub to shower
We have a large Garden tub that I would love to change into a large walkin shower. My problem is the 4ft x 4ft window next to the tub. How do I make it waterproof? It slides open, would it be possible to insert a sheet of glass and seal it to the old window frame? Don't want tile, don't like it at a...

Re: Exterior Upgrade Ideas?
We live in the high desert area also, about 60 mi north of LA. Our home is on 10 acres. We've made several upgrades to our home (built in 1990) since we bought it in 2002. We re-worked the ugly mobile home shutters on the house and made them look more like a stick built, then repainted the exterior ...

Re: marriage wall
We live in the desert, no prob with snow load. And we are putting a beam in to support and carry the roof load with additional supports under the home to beef up that area also. (just as you would if you removed a load bearing wall in a stick built home). I may very well write a letter to the manufa...

marriage wall
Ok, I learned from this site and all you knowledgable folks that the marriage wall is supposed to be load bearing. Makes sense. But there is always the exception to the rule. We are remodeling our kitchen and I wanted the wall opened up between the kitchen and dining room, 2 different sections conne...

Re: Granite countertop
This is a picture of the store display. We are doing the cabinets too, I got natural maple, 42 inch ready to assemble cabinets. I think I got a good price on them too. A contrator gave us a bid of $12,685. for JUST the cabinets. I was able to get the same quality for half that price. all solid wood,...

Granite countertop
WoooHooo, I found a great deal on granite countertops today. $39 a sq foot, with installation and taxes included as well as an upgraded edge profile. The acrylic solid surface I was looking at was $54 a sq ft not including taxes etc. Check it out at Home Depot if your looking for granite. Not a big ...

Re: Kitchen countertops
I have tile and I hate it, this is the second kitchen I've had with tile, never again.
It chips, a pain to keep the grout clean.
Thats why I am looking for a solid surface of some sort.

Kitchen countertops
I am getting ready to remodel my kitchen :D . I bought the cabinets (23 new cabinets) and need to find counterops. I don't want tile or formica, I want solid surface. I love Ceasar stone or Silestone type surfaces with acrylic next on my list. But with 53 sqft of countertop to cover, I am not findin...

expanding opening
I have a 5ft opening in the wall between my dining room and kitchen. The wall is between 2 units and is 6 inches thick. I want to expand this opening to 9 or 10 ft. and close off a second opening that is 32" wide about 9 ft away from the first opening. The measurements are 30" wall, 5 ft o...

Re: Newest elect bill
We haven't gotten a bill this month, but it was just $1.07 last month. the acutal power usage was $168.00, we had very rainy and cloudy days, so production was a little lower. The Govenor signed a bill at the end of last year that elect companies now have to pay for the electricity produced by our s...

Got good news
We just got a letter from SCE yesterday that says the govanator signed a bill that requires them to pay us for any excess electricity we produce and put back into they system at the same rate they charge consumers. :D Prior to this SCE would just credit your bill, but the excess production was grati...
