A question about a clogged kitchen sink drain line

Guy at ace hardware store told me today liquid fire will not harm a section of thick wall 2" PVC piping that is clogged. I tried to unclog with a manual plumbing snake but there is a section of this pipe that I just can't break thru so I poured a half bottle of the liquid fire in this section of pipe yesterday and will retry the plumbing snake today to see if I can push thur the clog. This is from a kitchen sink drain line. I know the caustic liquid fire will eat away at metal but does it do any harm to plastic PVC? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I would stick to the manual method personally. Relying upon a caustic substance was never encouraging to me. I had a clog in the master bath that required multiple tries of jambing, twisting and spinning a snake before working it through. If you have a cleanout below your sink, then I would get back to it with the snake and be persistent. Sorry if I didn't help with your actual question.

Have you tried an old fashion plunger? I have found that often works on a sink.
