From what I read,,, the need to move a lot of the burnt material to get to what they want to see. Frankly,,, I don't see how they could figure it out,,, there is nothing left.

I meet with the insurance adjuster tomorrow. Have some burnt skirting,,,, my sewer line burnt through,, ash and soot all over the trailer, patio furnitue has burn holes, and worst of all,,, the freshly painted interior smells like a BBQ pit. I not quite sure how all of the smoke got inside,, but it did.

Check with a few janitorial supply houses in your area. Look for Husky 400 from Canberra corp. . It is an industrial cleaner available in gallons, It WILL remove the smoke odor from your home if you wipe the surfaces with it.

The bed and bath are painted the same color,,, but the bath is semi-gloss. The paint is Sherwin-Wiliams. The code I have is 6175 Sagey but when I look that up it doesn't look right. I call it a cool-green,, a very relaxing shade. More like this:

As a sidebar,,,, havn't done anything on the trailer in a while and the smoke smell has fgone away!. I do have some fire damage on the skirting I need to take care of short term but the plan is to hold off on the 2nd bath untill the fall. In the mean time the fishing has been great! Caught this guppy a few weeks back!

Thanks for the paint info .. we were trying to find a nice green for our living room and dining room .. but after painting every green shade on the wall none looked right .. when that failed, we tried it in the guest bedroom which also was a fail .. I'm still searching for that perfect green! Might need to make a run to Sherwin Williams ..

Once you use real paint from Sherwin Williams or benjimen moore you won't ever buy paint from home depot or lowes anymore. I think Sherwin Williams has a 30% off sale this weekend also. You can call your local store to ask. I got a post card from them this past week but don't remember the exact dates of the sale. They have a 30% off sale about once a month.

Hi all,, it's been a while since I last posted. First,,, we've sold our regular home and have moved into the mobile home full time. It's been a bit of an adjustment and most of our stuff is in storage but the wife is happy as it's really easy to clean. Happy Wife = Happy Life! We'll be building a new home (via a GC) just a few blocks from this place over the next year. Should be fun. Once that's done and we move, this place will go up on the market.

To get top dollar when we sell, we'll need to finish this place up over the next 6 months. First up is a closet across the dining room wall to hold a washer and dryer and maybe a bait freezer if I'm lucky. Not too big of a deal but I'll need to run new plumbing and power which will be fun. The second bath, as I mentioned before, needs to be redone and I still have to fix/relace a bunch of the skirting from the fire and some is rotted. After that the siding on the rear will need to be replaced then paint the outside.

I'm tired already.

Well,,, we picked up a barely used washer/dryer for $200. Hope it works. With that I started the closet.

After Framing and drywall. You know the hardest part of this was cutting out the flooring. I did this so the flooring would still float. Dont know if it was necessary but it seemed like the right thing to do.





I'm hoping to have all of the tape and mud work done this weekend. Plumbing and electric should be done tomorrow.

The light fixture over the dining table is killing me. The OCD guy in me wants to relocate the box,,, the Get'er Done guy say screw it,,, Swag it.

Looks good. If you ever have to do drywall like that again don't run the sides all the way up like that. It makes a weak seam and cracks easy. Instead run the drywall on the header out over both sides, wall to wall. Then run the sides up to that piece. Here's a picture of how I usually do it.

Note that the brackets I used { } are incorrect they shold be [ ]. I had to do it that way to show the format.

Got the plumbing and electric done. What a pain. Had to rip into a lot of the insulation/wrap underneath the trailer to get to the piipes and electric. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go back and fix that mess. I did run the washer and dryer through one cycle. The wife is happy,,, no more laundry mat on Saturdays.




Drywall mud didn't get finished,,, but a few evenings this week should do it. Then paint and trim.

Looks good. Happy wife is a happy life!

Finished up all of the painting yesterday and the wife did 3 loads of laundry.
