My furnace gas valve turns on, the flame lights then weakens and goes out along with the pilot light. Any ideas appreciated.

Check roof-jack to ensure no blockages of combustion air intake, check burner and burner orifice for no blockages.

If all ok, best to call an hvac tech to test and diagnose further.
