Take a close look at all of the fuel line connections and bleeder, if you don't find anything, you may want to check and make sure the nozzle is tight. It does not take much of a leak to get a smell. Greg

Get another hvac tech for a second opinion. Get one experienced in oil furnaces.

Thanks,
Robert

Hi,

In 30+ years of hvac, I have done very little to/with oil furnaces, so will leave this one open to any suggestions.

If 3 hvac techs cannot figure it out in person, not much I can do from here.

Thanks,
Robert

The only other thought that I have is if you have a 2 line system. (1 suction & 1 return) Is it possible that there is a leak in the return line under the floor allowing the smell to come up? Greg
