I'm not sure about the studs in mobile homes, so can anyone give me a clue about finding these?

Your batten strips are over studs. And, just knock on the walls, you'll notice the difference in sound when you're near a stud, look for a vertical line of small caulked holes in the wall board in these locations. These are staples.

Thanks so much that's really helpful, and looking around my walls it makes sense.
Is there any way to know what type of studs I have (width)?

I have seen several homes of the late 60's and very early 70's era that had 1x4 walls, with 1x4 crossbracings.
The 2x3s used in wall are the size of 2x6s ripped down the middle.
