I am looking for new shutters for mobile home. Someone told me that getting wooden ones would help eliminate/decrease the problem of wasps/bee nests that are built behind shutters (the empty space behind vinyl shutters). This is a real problem in the summer. :?: :?: :?: :)

Your feedback opinions are appreciated!!!!

Thank you, Oranges

I had the same problem with the louvered type that came with the home. When I resided three years ago I went with the non louvered ones, and no more problems with wasps building nests behind them. Don't really know if wood will make any difference.

I had the same problem with what they call open louvered vinyl so I replaced them with the closed louvered vinyl which prevented the wasps from entering from the front and then I filled the small gaps on the sides with DAP latex foam sealant it doesn't expand very much at all.
