That is two coats of Zisser bullseye primer after tsp cleaning and sanding .I like Zisser because it it eggshell and dries with a slight texture

That looks really nice. Now, I MUST paint my wood grain cabinets white. So much cleaner looking. So, did you just put 2 coats of primer or did you paint over the primer? Can the cabinets just be painted with latex without primer? Rosemary

That is just primer.The final color will be close to the green in the cover paper. It will have a slight glaze and black hardware and trim.
The white is to much white for me.

Hi Rosemary,

No you can not paint the cupboards without first doing the proper prep and prime. The paint will not adhere to the cupboards without the method above used.

The second coat of color just went on the cabinets !!! Hardware and doors back on tomorrow. then trim then pics!!


VERY happy for 110 bucks so far
total spent is about 150 but I had to replace my paint equipment
10 bucks
bought gallons instead of quarts
est 20 doller differance between the primer and paint.

this includes all new hinges and pulls and knobs
40 in hardware
