We have a programmable thermostat, and allow it to set the nighttime temp back to 65 degrees from 68 degrees. In the morning when it is time to bring the temp back up, it takes from an hour to an hour and a half to raise the temp 3 degrees. Is this normal? If not, what should be done? All ducts are working and have been cleaned.
The house is around 1300 sq. ft. Heater is an Intertherm MGBB-070ABFC-06 fired by propane. We are located in New Mexico, in the mountains east of Albuquerque. Elevation is around 7,300 ft.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi,

Shouldn't take that long, check burner and burner orifice, be sure they're clear.

Also, be sure you have correct gas pressure and burner orifice for that altitude.

May be best to call an hvac tech.

Thanks,
Robert

Thank you Robert. We had the heating guy from the gas company check it out. He says it's fine. Maybe I should try someone else?

Hi Jack,

Did he check everything, do any diagnostic tests on system ?

Shouldn't take that long to rise 3 degrees unless home is not well insulated or furnace is very old and inefficient.

Wouldn't hurt for a second opinion from an hvac contractor.

Thanks,
Robert
