Cleaning fiberglass ducts
I apologize for not submitting my profile yet but I have been very busy. I am working on my 1998 16x80 Fleetwood that has been burned, and because of that the (square rigid) ductwork is EXTREMELY dirty. There is a lot of loose insulation, tiny pieces of wood, dirt and also the usual crap that finds its way down the vents. I have removed the furnace that sat inside the home and now I have a 12"x12" access to the ductwork. Anyone have any ideas how to clean down there? Any help would GREATLY appreceiated. Thanks...George
Hi George,
Those ducts are very flimsy and often have seperations, holes, openings.
Clean VERY gently and do not use any liquids.
Try vacuuming from each register and wiping with a damp towel.
Normal type extensive cleaning will destoy the duct and probably damage the underbelly.
Take care and best wishes,
Robert
