We are likely going to need to replace our whole system. I would like to know how much we can expect to pay for this. We have always had fmaily members who would do a/c work, so we have very little experience hiring contractors for this sort of thing. I have priced the actual equipment we want, but how much MORE should I expect to pay someone to install it all (outside unit, furnace, thermostat). What about just replacing the furnace & A coil? The A coil is leaking into the furnace (rusted through top, as best I can tell). I just do not want to get ripped off. I live near Houston, TX.

Thanks.

That has too many variables to know for sure. Get 2-3 estimates and see if they are close in price. Talk to neighbors or family who has had it done and see what going rate is there.

Make sure they are licensed/insured and check with local BBB.

Thanks,
Robert
