COLEMAN DGAA0708BDTA - HEAT NOT COMING ON

The heat wont come on in my furnace. AC works fine. When we try to switch to heat, it acts like it wants to start , but then just quits. I had the same problem intermittently last year, but I could eventually get it to come on. It's going to get cold in a couple of days and I want to try to fix it without calling a repair man.
Hoping someone can help me troubleshoot it. If you can provide any links to pictures or anything you refer to I would appreciate it. Not familiar at all with furnaces. Unit is 7 years old, is there any warranty left??

thanks

Does the small booster motor midway on right side of furnace start up and run within 2-3 seconds of call for heat from t-stat ?

Is the diagnostic light flashing on circuit board ? If so, how many flashes ?

Thanks,
Robert

Hi,

2 flashes = Pressure switch shorted. Listen to see if booster motor sounds as if it is running good with no unusual sounds.

Inspect the tubes from pressure switch to booster motor (2 tubes).

Make sure they are not damaged and are connected tight and not blocked/clogged.

If all ok, most likely a faulty pressure switch.

Pressure Switch # 024-27666-001 @ $39.99 + $6.75 shipping.

It can be seen and ordered here:

Mid way of furnace, booster motor on right side (encased in round pipe cylinder).. Look for two small silicone tubes running from booster motor and furnace over to the pressure switch on the left beside booster motor.

It is round black disc shape and has the two tubes and two small blue wires connected.

It is mounted extended out from furnace facing.

You can still order today if you hurry.

Not sure if that is complete problem, but it is what the diagnostic light indicates and is one problem.

If all else is ok as mentioned, this is most likely the problem.

To know for sure would require a Tech to look at it.

Thanks,
Robert

Hi pdl2,

Do they appear clear and not clogged ?

No, the tubes are a seperate item.

Thanks,
Robert

Tubes were fine. Replaced the pressure switch, but the blow motor fan wouldnt run. I kicked started the fan and has been working fine.

Did kick starting the fan do any harm?

Would spraying wd 40 on the fan do any good?

Furnace guy was here at work looking at our furnace and I was talkign to him about my Coleman. He mentioned something about a recall on the heat exchange. Do you know about any recall and who should I go through, Coleman?

Thanks for all your help
