I've uploaded some pictures to my photobucket album of the front of my trailer. I can't figure out how to put the pictures here cause it never seems to work. Anyway, there are these black strips of what looks to be rubber that run in some groves over top of some screws on the front of my mobile. As you can see in the photos, mine are shot. Do I need them or can I just remove them completely? Do I need to replace them? What should I replace them with and where can I get it?

What are these called and what are they for?

Hi Pat,
Those are vinyl inserts for the trim. They were like termination bars. Here is just one web site where you can see and order the insert pieces. They should also be available at any RV dealer who has a parts department. They come in 3/4" and 1" and in different colors. They are there to keep the screws from rusting. If the screws deteriorate and let in water, they will eventual case the strip to loose it's seal and allow water in throught those walls seams.
