Hi Guys. Question is not about how to do, but about can I do it or not? I mean if there are any laws or regulations that forbid cooktop replacement by yourself? Thank you in advance!

As far as I know there are no codes that say you cannot replace appliances. There may be local codes that require permits to change from Electric to Gas, but if the fuel is the same I would doubt any permit would be required. Check where you buy the appliance.
