My trailer is made of 2x4 studs. I took down the old wood panel now I want to put up drywall. Somebody told me that 1/2" drywall may be to much. I said no way. What do you people think?

I would go with 3/8", which is standard on most mobile homes. The reason has to do with the amount of weight put on the outlying perimeter of the home. Also, the paneling coming off is generally about 3/8" thick. With that in mind, you have to take in consideration the electrical outlets and how far they stick out from the wall as well as the light switches.

As long as the home structurally sound you should be fine. Many here have used 1/2" with no problems. Greg
