Hi everyone just joined and was reading some of the post and it seems that there are some very knowledgeable people on this forum.

One thing I noticed was on servile post about leveling it was mentioned to get a 20 ton jack. One person even mentioned that they bent the I-Beam in servile places doing this.

You would be better off getting servile smaller jacks from a place like Harbor Freight and lifting from servile points at one time, this distributes the weight over a larger area and also keeps the jack from wanting to sink instead of lifting.

The other thing to watch for is make sure you use a piece of 2x4 between the jack and the I-Beam to spread the force out, make sure you are centered under the I-Beam so the force is on the web and not on the flange this will help prevent damage and possibly keep it from slipping off the jack and some one getting hurt.
