belly board/barrier

Hello everyone,

We recently experienced our moms.home getting flooded..

It is a 26x52 1985 doublewide. We had 2 more years before its paid off.
No flood ins. So were gonna rebuild.

My first question concerns the belly board. In this case its the material. Blanket

We have removed the flooring down to the 2x6's. The home has brick underpinning with
plenty of ventilation. We also have a very good ground moisture barrier that goes up
the back of the brick along with the piers wrapped

The question is can we go back with insulation between the 2x6's and forget the plastic barrier
that was suspended under the 2x6's?

We are on the coast of SC. About 5 miles from the ocean. And intracoastal waterway is a block
away.

The insulation is designed to hang under the joists like a big blanket, the idea behind it is to allow warm air from the ducts to circulate under the floor to warm the plumbing & floor. Since this may not be a factor for you I guess that it is your call. You should still use some type of vapor barrier to protect the insulation, some here have used Tyvec.
