Ok, not sure what the name of the grey water lines are (PB) I think. I was told by a friend here in Denver that you can get those replaced for free. She had hers done but does not remember who to contact about this. Has anyone heard of this or know where I need to look? Thanks.

The main website directing people into the class action suit is pbpipe.com I believe that taime had expired for all claims early this year. The claims were only good if filed withon 10 years of the home being sold new, so the claims that were able to get in this year had to be 1997 model homes.

Chris, there was a class action suit a few years back, as far as I know not much has been done about it. My best advice is that if you are having problems, replace it with PEX and bite the bullet. The way our court system works it may be years before anyone sees a few cents on the dollar for repair/replacement. Greg

Here is the words from the Cox vs Shell notice from CRPC. Inc. The entire notice is available at the link below.

* All claims for mobile homes and all claims arising from Qualifying Yard Service Leaks must be postmarked within 11 years of the Date of Installation of the PB In-House Plumbing or Yard Service Line;

http://www.pbpipe.com/notice_long.htm#top

Contact and other info is available at
http://pbpipe.com

The above information is to file a claim with the class action lawsuit. You can opt out of the law suit and sue Shell Oil Company at your on expense, but that doesn't sound like a very good option. There are lot's of forms and information that you have to track down to get payment through the class action. In the class action, your home would have to have been built on or after August 1996, with factory polybutylene pipe. A very rare home indeed.

If anyone does qualify and decides to pursue a claim, the information you gather will be invaluable to other members of this forum. Whether you get a settlement or not, please keep us posted of the process and result.
