My daughter bought an older Marlette Mobile Home. We are unable to find where the filter is on this furnace. Is is possible it does not require one?

Yes, it goes behind the upper louvered door.

Filter Retainer # 302257000

Call Mark @ 605-229-2627 and see if he has those or can get them or a compatible replacement.
