Hi,

I am going to move this thread to the HVAC forum. Please read the posting tips on the main page in HVAC. The tech will need further info on your unit.

Thanks,
Yanita

Hi,

First make sure it is getting full 240VAC to the motor leads with call for heat from t-stat. If so:

If you can spin the squirrel cage for several revolutions with out it stopping and it is easy to spin, may be a bad run capacitor.

Since you have to replace the run cap with any motor replacement, replace that and see if it solves it.

If not and it has 240VAC, replace the motor.

You could possibly take to motor shop, but parts and labor charges would make it more feasible to replace motor and have a warranty.

That is if anything could be done for it in first place.

Take care and best wishes,
Robert
