Hi guy,s

I have a Coleman EB12B electric furnace #wol615630, 39,000 BTU's, No AC and No heat pump
.I just wanted to know how to lower the speed of the blower. The blower is 4 speed and it has red, blue, black and yellow wires..The Red and the black are hooked up, the blue (med-high) is not and the yellow (med-low) isn't either. The red is for heating and black for cooling..what I have read and understood is that you would want a slower speed for heating and higher for cooling. I live in a single wide mobile...heat not even through it and all duct work has been checked and sealed. insulation is fair..but blower does blow really hard, harder than it should. Just wanted to know which wire to switch to slow it down and make it comfortable in here.. Thanks... Jim

If you suspect the blower is running on it's highest speed for heat then you need to change it. Follow the black lead (high) to where it is connected to either a circuit board or speed selector terminal set. Pull it and replace it with the red(low) wire. Not real familiar with electric furnaces as we don't have too many in our area but that is how you will change the blower speed. You mention no AC connected to your furnace so you will only need one wire from the blower connected.

Okay thanks....so the red wire controls the high and low speed of the blower for heating..it's already hooked up to the blower relay..just seems awful loud for low coming out of the supply vents .must be me

Let me know what color ALL the wires are on your blower. Any orange wire on it? Is there a capacitor wired into 2 brown wires on the motor as well? Like I said I don't repair too many electric units and don't have a schematic for your model. Working from my head and older Coleman electric furnace schematics. Each colored wire represents a winding in the motor and will turn it at a different speed. Depending on which wire/winding you energize you alter the speed of the motor. Black = high, Blue = medium high, Yellow = medium low, and Red = low. Since you have no air or heat pump connected to your furnace you will only use one speed. Since you mention still running high I suspect the black is still being energized.

Thanks for your help DaleM, after doing more searching and reading on the net.Low speed (red)wire was already hooked up..So, it's the way it should be. so can mark this as solved
