Replacing a 7610-859 with a 7956C856. Will my old chimney / exhaust pipe work on the new heater ? The vent gas outlet size looks about 5 inches on both and the bigger fresh air inlet size looks about 8 inches on both. Planning on doing this today and hoping I can reuse the chimney / roof jack and not have to replace it.

If it is in good shape I don't think there should be a problem using the old on as long as it is the same size pipe.

Got the heater changed out today, finally. Still on it's first cycle right now but is heating good. I re-used my old chimney. The center pipe was still round and in good shape and fit good and snug on the exhaust riser on the heater. The outer pipe was a little bent out of round - was already that way. Old heater had a piece of metal flashing wrapped around the outer pipe and taped with hi-temp aluminum tape to the top of the heater and the flashing wrap so I did the same but I took better care to make sure it was sealed good all the way around top and bottom. So far so good.
