Re: Anchoring exterior pressed wood siding
Mine is a 1995 Redman, so fortunately I don't think this applies.

Re: Anchoring exterior pressed wood siding
"but you need to keep them away from the edges or the edge will break"
Can you please elaborate on this a little more. I'm not clear what you are saying.
Thank you.

Anchoring exterior pressed wood siding
The outside of my home uses the pressed wood panels. I'm not exactly sure what they are called. Through subtle movements from wind, etc, many of the nails are actually coming out on their own. Maybe the manufacturer used nails instead of screws to save money. Would screws be better? If nothing else,...

Removing battens next to popcorn ceiling
I am pondering the idea of removing all battens in my home and filling the seams with mud. However, I also have a popcorn ceiling. I don't think I'm skilled enough to mud that seam without making a mess of the popcorn. Hmmmm. Has anyone else done this? Maybe I should replace the standard ceiling bat...

Re: Blistering panel seam covers
Would Home Depot carry stuff like this? And do they make corner molding that is once piece? Throughout my home they used to batten for every corner. Real cheap looking.

Wood paneling still available?
I did a search today online and I can't find any wood paneling that was used in mobile homes in the 1970s. Does anyone know if it is still being made today? I actually like how it does not require the use of battens to cover the seams. Am I the only on who thinks like this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Anyone try seam tape?
I came across seam tape today while searching for options for my wall panels. I wonder if once the tape is applied, then paint the wall, would you be able to see the seam tape underneath the paint? Here is just one website that sells the tape: http://www.all-rite.com/seam-tape-p-359.html Thanks for ...

Is this busted door repairable?
Is this door fixable? If so, any suggestions on how to do it? Maybe it's not worth the time. Perhaps it will be more effective to just buy a new one. Thoughts?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Baseboards over wall panel covers
I want to add baseboards to all the rooms, but the trim that covers the wall panel seams will be in the way. What is the best way to deal with this? Take each one down, cut off the needed amount, and then put them back on? Take them down and putty the seams, thus getting rid of the need for the cove...

Suggestions for air nail gun for trim work
I am ripping up all the flooring and will eventually add vinyl to make it easy to keep this ranch house clean. In the process, I will add new baseboards and some panel seam covers. Upon close examination, it appears that the existing baseboards used brads that were nearly two inches long, while the ...

Be notified when there is a reply
This forum makes me check the box to be notified, if there are any replies, each time I post a new post. I looked in the other settings to see if I could make this the default setting, but did not find anything. Is this not an option here?
Thanks!

House fan option on an old thermostat?
I will be going up to the ranch in the next few days to work on my 1995 mobile home. The last time I was there I don't recall seeing a switch on the "old style" thermostat that allows for me to turn on the blower or house fan. This is a feature that my newer thermostat here in the condo ha...

What to do with mold
This photo is a wall on the opposite of the bathroom shower. No one has used this house for two years, and so that means no water in the shower either. Therefore, can I assume his mold has "died" due to not having access to moisture? Should I just sand it off and paint over it? Thanks! mol...

Blistering panel seam covers
I think the panel seam covers are particle board covered with a vinyl covering of some sort. I don't know if it's due to water damage or just age, but the covering is starting to blister/bubble in various places around the home. What is the best way to deal with this? Replace them? Sand off the blis...
