Re: Doublewide back door sticking
This has been a pretty bad year with real cold temps. My deck is up about a 1/2" more than what it usually goes up from frost heave. You could jack the hinge side up and rework the perimeter blocking under that side of the door. OR you could just leave it, it should go back to normal operation ...

Re: Intertherm Heating and Air system
Any chance those ceiling ducts fed into a main duct up in the attic area above the furnace? That would act as a return air system for the furnace. You could try to back those lags out maybe a 1/4" to see if the clicking goes away. Try it in a couple spots along the duct where the noise is great...

Re: Intertherm Heating and Air system
The ticking/clicking in the duct is the duct expanding and contracting lengthwise against the floor joists. If you want to get rid of that noise I suggest you cut open the belly wrap and loosen up the straps that hold the duct up tight to the floor joists. If it isn't bothering you just leave it. As...

Re: Vapor Barrier Question
Where do you live and what is under your home? If you are on a full slab then I wouldn't bother. Also check on the type of underbelly material you have. If the newer webbed plastic wrap I wouldn't bother with a vapor barrier.

Re: Hot water heater about to break?
Another thing you can do if you have "crappy" water is install a full flow ball valve on the drain of the water heater. Plumb that down and out then flush regularly, once a month maybe. Larger pieces of sediment can get through it. The stock drain valve is quite restrictive. Put a "sa...

Re: Natural Gas Furnace
Good deal Mark. I wouldn't have thought that assembly could/would get that dirty with a decent filter in place. I haven't run into that situation yet with any M3s but I'm sure the day will come. Thanks for posting your FIX to this problem.

No it won't hurt anything. Actually even if they stayed on the limit switches would ultimately shut them down.

Bob the area is active, just no posts as no one wants to venture an answer to your problem, if one actually exists, including myself. I am not familiar with the equipment you have listed. Normally I would say the sequencer is not working correctly but again not being familiar with what you have list...

Re: Nordyne Roof Jack
The ice on the lower half of the roof jack usually isn't a problem on the direct ignition model furnaces. However on pilot models it creates a pressure differential between the intake (lower) and exhaust (upper) sections of the roof jack assembly which can lead to pilot outage. If you have a pilot m...

Re: Heater hard to get to light, then won't stay lit very lo
One other thing I run into on the 7900 series furnaces is the degradation of the inner flue pipe on the roof jack assembly. As the pipe rusts internally the rust falls onto the upper damper of the heat exchanger and blocks it. This causes flue gases to build up as they are unable to escape. The flow...

The igniter on your furnace becomes the flame sensor after the voltage is cut after igniting the burner. Check the main burner orifice for a spider web.

Re: Natural Gas Furnace
About the only other thing you could check is gas pressure on the supply and demand side of the control valve. I would think that a problem like this though (gas pressure) would have shown itself sooner.

Re: Final Attempt at Finding a Solution!
One thing you can try is to open the belly wrap and relieve the tension on the straps holding your ductwork up to the floor joists. Loosen them in a way to allow the duct to float lower in the straps and not contact the wooden joists. That's normally where the noise is created when it's the popping ...

Re: Ceiling replace
If the ceiling bows down you probably need to replace the rafters. That can be done with either 2x6 or 2x8 lumber depending on the rafter height at the center of the ceiling. It's a project but can be done.

Re: Lear-Siegler AGC-80 Type B standing pilot Propane burner
Going from memory but the tough parts of lighting that are getting a lit match through the hole without blowing out and seeing the pilot. I could be completely wrong though, without a pic, and with all the different makes and models furnaces I have been in through the years I could have this model m...
