Re: How important are OUTRIGGERS on a manufactured home?

Contact the dealer and let them know what happened, If they were also the delivery & setup then they need to fix it. If it was an independent company that did the damage they need to fix it. Either way get the dealer involved. If you get a run a round from them go to the manufacturer.

Re: windows sweating in the winter

Condensation. most basic mobile home windows are JUNK. You need a better quality double pane window. The air between the 2 panes prevents condensation from forming.
I would look at a window upgrade if possible or at the very least shrink type plastic storm windows.

Re: Belly board repair and Questions

Air circulation, the belly is designed to breath, Belly wrap is usually woven to allow air and water to get through. Critters, Skirting is your first line of defence against them. I like steel or concrete personally. If a critter chews through it they can have it I'm not messing with them. Insulatio...

Re: Roof replacement and roof over project - combined

I will tell you now to get with your codes officer. It is much easier to get his input BEFORE you start, than have him tell you what changes you have to make when you are done. He may be fine with what you are doing and tell you to have fun or he may tell you what you need to change, but make no mis...

Re: 1969 Marlette Roof Leak

I would peal the layers of tar off and get down the original roof to get an idea of what is really going on. You will probably find that the metal is rusted through. Depending on the extent you may be able to put a metal patch on or the whole roof may need to be replaced.

Re: Tub Faucet Replacement Options

If you are doing a tub wall surround with it, you can do about anything since new holes will need to be cut. if not measure the existing holes and find what fits.

Re: Venting in Master Bathroom

Depending on your outside wall thickness you may be able to go right up inside the wall with 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 pipe then through the ceiling & roof. You really don't need a straight shot, just enough to get the pipe through and air into the drainage system.

Re: Venting in Master Bathroom

Check codes first, but usually the tub & toilet use a roof vent. Sinks can use an under the counter check valve type vent.

Re: double wide help

It all depends how deep you want to get into it. Floor problems in front of doors is a common problem. You may find checking the support under the door solves the problem or you may find the subfloor is getting bad and needs repair. As for door frame problems it may be the home is out of level and n...

Re: Float new deck footings or?

My first thought is if it has been working for you why change it?
I would say code may require below frost line footers (posts) but you would have to check on that.

The fact that you are a woman may be part of the $4k price. SOME people would count on you just saying fix it and not asking any questions and even offer to drive you to the bank to get their money. A couple more estimates will tell the whole story.

Re: Simple Question.......trying to repair toilet tank leak!

The fitting in the shutoff looks like a sharkbite style (there are a few different brand names). I would keep an eye on it and plan on changing it to prevent problems.

Re: Simple Question.......trying to repair toilet tank leak!

It is a fitting to go from plastic tube to pipe thread on the bottom of the fill valve. Try tightening the nut slightly and see it that stops the leak. if not shut the water off and remove the nut. there should be a flat rubber washer that goes between the adapter & fill valve that may be leakin...

Re: Painting front door

Preparation is the most important part of the job.
Follow the directions on the can, prep. time usually takes longer than painting.
