I think I will shut it off in the winter and open it up during humid summer months.

I installed some cheap stuff in my kitchen and laundry room and it made everything else look old and crappy so now I'm replacing cabinets,sinks,faucets,wall color etc.. btw,if you have a dishwasher installed already look at the clearance under your cabinet, it might not fit if you bring your floor u...

Thanks for the reply Robert, You say you don't use yours. Did you cap the flex inside your house and leave the vents open on the roof? I think I have two vents just entering in the attic and one hole drawing air from them both(that being the one flex pipe hanging in the alcove), that way air circula...

I don't know anything about the oil furnaces but one time with a natural gas furnace I had,
it was smelling like unburned gas and burning my eyes. It turned out so simple I would not have believed it, but it was because the front metal door was not on right.

I was just on my roof and noticed how close the cap was too the roof maybe in your case the splatter from the roof is getting inside the pipe. Maybe raising the pipe up a bit might help.
Just a thought.
